Ever since the start of the selling of the Kolcraft baby walkers, there has been disturbing news about this toy. According to reports, there have been babies who have suffered from mild lacerations on the eyes, face, tongue and eyelids. This is because the flower toys on the tray, when detached, can expose sharp edges which are quite dangerous to young children nowadays. With these reports, the management of the toy, Kolcroft Enterprises Inc., is now reportedly recalling the selling of these toy detachments – about 410,000 of them - because of the hazards it imposes on young children. This action is being done with the help of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
These toys are now being sold in department store, in discount shops and cost around 20$ to 40$.
The multi-colored baby walkers have either a detachable music center or a toy bar on the tray. On each of the trays are 3.5 inch stars and 6.5 inch stems. What the parents need to do is to remove these stars or these stems immediately since they are unsafe and perilous to the hands of the young children, and they could even cause severe injuries.
